First Blog Post 

     

      I am several days from departure and I cannot wait to start my abroad experience in Copenhagen! I am scheduled to take Architecture Foundations Studio (my core course), Sustainable by Design, Visual Journal and Watercolor Painting. I am honestly a little nervous about the classes because I will be in a new environment and will likely be instructed in a different way than back at home. With that said, I keep reminding myself that the potential for such differences is one of the main reasons I wanted to study abroad again.

        Another reason for my excitement is that Scandinavia in general has a special place in my heart. My mother is from Sweden so a fair amount of my summers were spent visiting her family in Stockholm. My love for Scandinavia grew even stronger after spending the first semester of my senior year in high school studying at an IB school in Malmö, Sweden. I am happy to still be in touch with some of the friends I made there. Despite being in such close proximity to Denmark, I have not gotten to experience much of it outside of the airport. With that said, I am eager to get out and immerse myself in Danish culture because some of my most fond memories from Sweden were made when I was out exploring and meeting new people from the area. I cannot wait to see what this semester brings!
