ABOUT ME:
Hej! My name is Isa and I am studying Architecture and Design at DIS in Copenhagen, Denmark, during the Spring semester of 2017! I am a junior at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New York where I am majoring in Architectural Studies and minoring in Environmental Studies.

WHAT BRINGS ME TO DIS?
During the Spring of 2016 I studied abroad in Rome, Italy. I had such an amazing time exploring and experiencing the culture and architecture there that when I came back to the U.S. I immediately started looking into additional study abroad opportunities. I was drawn towards the DIS program in Copenhagen because of its potential to offer a 180 degree experience to that of studying in Rome (not only is the culture itself so different, so is the architecture and the climate).
Furthermore, as an aspiring architect, I find myself most drawn to modern, sustainable, and technologically-advanced designs, all of which are characteristics that make up the backbone of some of Denmark's newest Danish architecture. I am excited to see how being surrounded by innovative architecture and learning about it in more detail will influence my personal style and potential career interests. In this blog I hope to document my adventures and reflect on my various experiences both in and out of the classroom. I also hope to give others insights into the cultural differences I experience in comparison to those on the east coast of the U.S. as well as those in Rome.
